Polyphony

This body of work is inspired by the late medieval music of Cyprus. Polyphony is the style of simultaneously combining a number of parts each forming an individual melody and harmonizing with each other (Wikipedia). While listening to the intricate and haunting music with awe, these multi-gemstone pieces revealed a visual expression of the audio experience. Based on line, form, shape, and balance, each element comes together into a fresh and unique song in stone and metal.

Stone Flows

Bubbling up from the mantle of the earth, volcanic activity and lava flow create some of the most interesting gems and forms. With the intricate details residing inside the stones, the Flow series continues those forms and undulations into the settings.

Mod Artifacts

Beautiful jewelry often times comes out of archaeological digs. The hand hewn method of fabrication used then is a technique still used today with the same classic results. Textures from hammering, mixed metals, and rhythms of stone shapes express both ancient and contemporary aesthetics. The result is timeless, wearable art that easily pairs with both jeans and the little black dress to the symphony.
