With great glee, Karen and Steve Britt collected this Mahogany Obsidian on their adventures through eastern Oregon. It was joined with an Oregon Sunstone, that we also mined, in a technique called Intarsia. They were polished as one and set in Fine silver. The setting is left open backed so you can enjoy this feature even more. Sterling Silver and Copper were smithed together like tectonic plates at the seam of the Intarsia joint. The same technique surrounds the Virgin Valley Garnet below. The mixed metals create a warm and varied shimmer around the unique Intarsia stone. The Intarsia Stone is 10mm square and the Carnelian is 6mm with the over all pendant being 53mm from the bail or a little over 2”.

The pendant is hung on a Greek Leather 3.5mm cord that is approximately 18” with a sterling silver hook and loop clasp. As with all of the pendants on the website, each one could pair with any of the chains you have at home. We just like to send it off to you ready to wear and we like this presentation for wearing them also; it’s like the perfect black frame on a picture, goes with everything. Choosing the perfect chain for each individual is like attempting to choose the perfect haircut for them! You are welcome to hang this lovely pendant from any chain of your choice.

This piece was fabricated from scratch by Karen Britt. Each piece is a one of a kind piece of art, because no two stones are the same and the settings are created by hand, no two pieces are the same (even the earrings). It should be mentioned that all stones are used in their natural state; never dyed or heated to change their appearance. All the metals used are either recycled or fair, humane trade verified and all components used in the jewelry will return to the earth leaving no footprint. Thank you for enjoying the art.

We use priority USPS and they’ve been speedy in delivery time (usually 1 to 5 business days travel time depending on where you are).
