You have to love the subtle brilliance of labradorite. The body tone of these are a smoky teal to blue-grey color, like worn denim. The flash is like confetti colors in one stone and the other has more of a bolt of blues and greens in the upper half. They’re sly as they hang out being pretty and then you get a treat of their directional color when the light hits them just right. Fine Silver, Sterling Silver, and Copper all compliment the hue ensemble to dangle from your ears.
The Madagascar Labradorite measures about 12mm x 10mm rectangular cabochons, set in Fine Silver, and left open backed in their copper bodied earrings to let the light shine through. This is always stunning when you have short hair or your hair is up. Each stone has a splash of color that comes out when the sun or light shines across them. The rest of the time, they have a lovely smoky blue-teal body color that has variations, having plenty of beautiful character when they’re not flashing. The polish on the faces of the labradorite is varied, because of the nature of the stone, and gives added visual interest. The earring body is copper that is textured to frame the labradorite and measures about 31mm or 1 1/4 inches. They’re embellished with sterling and fine silver spheres to add to their angled architecture. The sterling silver earring wires add about 1/2 inch more for an over all 1 3/4 inches of dangling beauty from the earring hole of your ears. Each earring weighs about 3.8 grams (while a penny is 2.5 grams and a nickel is 5 grams to give a reference), so they’re comfortable to wear while being big enough to present a fabulous and fashionable statement.
