This fabulously clear Champagne Sunstone was mined by Karen and Steve Britt at the Spectrum Sunstone Mine in Oregon. Karen Britt designed and executed the free-form, gently faceted on top and concave faceted on the back, to create the unique gem. It weighs in at 4 carats and is bezel set in Fine Silver, left open backed to let the light shine through. The 5mm Crystal Opal and 1.5 carat Boulder Opal are from Australian and are old stock (about 30 years from Tucson Gem Show). The body and bail of the pendant are Sterling Silver and the over all length of the piece is 38mm or roughly 1 1/2”.

The pendant is hung on a Greek Leather 1.5mm cord that is approximately 18” with a sterling silver hook and loop clasp. As with all of the pendants on the website, each one could pair with any of the chains you have at home. We just like to send it off to you ready to wear and we like this presentation for wearing them also; it’s like the perfect black frame on a picture, goes with everything. It is shown in a couple of the pictures with a silver chain as an example for you to see. Choosing the perfect chain for each individual is like attempting to choose the perfect haircut for them! You are welcome to hang this lovely pendant from any chain of your choice.

This piece was fabricated from scratch by Karen Britt. Each piece is a one of a kind piece of art, because no two stones are the same and the settings are created by hand, no two pieces are the same (even the earrings). It should be mentioned that all stones are used in their natural state; never dyed or heated to change their appearance. All the metals used are either recycled or fair, humane trade verified and all components used in the jewelry will return to the earth leaving no footprint. Thank you for enjoying the art.
