Sunstone, Petrified Wood, and Pearl
From the Sun, through the trees, to the depth of the ocean, these three symbolic stones come together in elegant simplicity. The center stone is blackened petrified wood, probably burned in the volcanic event that begun its preservation, that is hand carved to receive the forms of the other two gems. Above is a Champagne Oregon Sunstone with a blush copper schiller blaze and the bottom is a radiant old stock Baroque Pearl. The three form a dynamic team that will go with simply everything that you’d want to wear them with.
The Virgin Valley, Nevada Petrified Wood and the Sunstone are from our recent mining expedition and both found by us. The Petrified Wood piece is hand polished then carved to wrap into the other two gems. The Champagne Sunstone from the Plush area is 5mm and contains copper schiller. The baroque pearl is from old stock purchased about 25-30 years ago at the Tucson Gem Show . The ensemble is set in Sterling Silver with Sterling Silver bail loops and hook and loop closure. The pendant is hung on Greek leather, 1.5mm, 18”ish cord so that it’s ready to wear and I always imagine that if folks have a specific kind of chain they like, one would be welcome to transfer it to a chain from your own collection as well. Due to the individuality of the stones and jewelry design, this is an original, one of a kind art piece. All the metals used are either recycled or fair, humane trade verified and all components used in the jewelry will return to the earth leaving no footprint. Thank you for enjoying the art.
