Tune in to YouTube on Fridays at 6pm Pacific for the premiere of each episode.

From Obsidian To Gem

Travel from Glass Butte, Oregon to the Ozone studios to create a piece of jewelry! Part 2 of the 3 part series, the Aurora Borealis cabochon that we cut and polished in part 1 becomes a GIVEAWAY jewelry piece for a lucky viewer. It’s not too late to enter, watch the video to see how and you can enter twice by watching both part 1 and 2. Good luck!

Making a Knife Handle

In our latest video, we make the Roots and Blood Knife handle from Oregon Red Jasper and Petrified Wood. We follow the ‘from slab to scale’ creation of each stone and illuminate the inspiration behind it.

Lets go to the Beach!

We have a walk and find some fossils, agates, and the biggest Mystery Jasper-Agate I’ve found on the beach. Later we find out that we picked up a possible Fish Skull and Enhydro Agatized Clam Belly!

Polish That Fossil!

Find an interesting stone on the beach that turns out to have a fossil shell inside? Happens a fair amount around these beaches nearby and I got curious enough to find out what was inside. Be the first, along with me, to see this shell revealed from the host rock that held it around 15 million years.

Fun Color Study

Draw along with me as we paint with dry media. We’re playing with color and stroke to create contrast, texture, and learn some techniques to apply to paint. It’s a quick, fun, step by step approach to a study and even Lily gets to be involved.

Explore creative color use and application with this fun study art project using Oil Pastels. For more information, check out the companion blog post at ozon...

Printing the Red Octopus

Explore the art of old school printmaking with us while we pull a print from the Red Octopus print block. Bonus footage of a live red octopus and baby octopus makes this an interesting and informative video!

Join us as we create a wood block print of the Red Octopus. From hand inking the block to pulling the print by hand (and stone!), we cover some of the detail...

Wing Boarding On the beach spring 2020

We love taking a break from the studio on the beach flying with our wings. Much of this video is taken first person so it’s like you are there too. Come along!

Wing Boarding at the beach

When we’re not in the studio and the wind is blowing, it’s fun to go play on the beach!

New 'Wings' on the beach with mountain boards. It's inspiring to get out of the art studio occasionally! Surprisingly fun, this is a good reason to look forw...

Lucky Breaks

Bust some rocks open with me and my trusty sledgehammer to see the pretties inside. The ‘rough’ of the recent RockFish carving is seen coming out of the ‘Mother Stone’ and below in the thumbnail.

We present one fast way of getting a look inside your rocks. They are always mysterious from the outside and we have some great surprises as to how beautiful...

Oregon Coast Rocks!

Go to the beach with Lily and find some super cool Oregon Coast treasures.

We're down on the beach with some examples of treasures you can find on the Oregon Coast.

Gazing into Oregon SUnStone

Peer into the stones, sort out the good ones, and watch as we polish them into gemstones.

Watch as we peer into rough Oregon Sunstones to prepare them for Lapidary. We continue through the preparation, dopping, cutting, and polishing for a finished gemstone by the end.

Oregon Sunstone Carving II

Here’s the follow up video to Oregon Sunstone Carving I. In the first video, we cover finding and carving the Sunstone. In this video I plan the setting and see it through to the finished piece.

This is a follow up to 'Oregon Sunstone Carving I' where the gem that was carved gets set into a finished piece of jewelry.

Oregon Sunstone Carving I

From out in Eastern Oregon to the Ozone studio, view start-to-finish the finding and carving of an Oregon Sunstone!

Watch as an Oregon Sunstone is found near Plush, Oregon, then carved into a finished gemstone. We include a look at some of the tools that could get anyone carving, and some tips, and information about the unique Sunstones that appear in Oregon and nowhere else in the world!

Oregon Coast Locals

Check out some of our fishy friends that have become favorite subjects in the art. Watch the subjects become Gyotaku fish prints, woodblock prints, and an oil painting before your eyes.

Scenes of our Oregon Coast underwater friends inspire works of art in print and paint. Watch swimming subjects lead to artwork unfolding with an invitation to get creative.

King Tides 2020

Our first video! We captured a few scenes of Yaquina Head and other beaches in between raindrops and waves. Have a look at the big swell and some of the odd things it brings to the beach!

Watch the King Tide come in January 11th, 2020 on Yaquina Head in Newport, Oregon. Pictures of big swell debris from the beach in the aftermath.
