Laura Aldridge is a professional photographer having done fashion and portrait as well as fine art. Instead of the usual presentation of the 'print' behind glass with matting and framing, she delivers her work in a painstaking layering of media and emotional content.

Vision in the body of work

This latest body of work concentrates on a death that Laura experienced when young that she hadn't had closure with. She went on journeys into the cemeteries shooting the statuary as she would her models, evoking the soul from the stone.

Layered Sentiment

Laura begins with an upcycled wood panel, transfers her photograph to it within layers of anique laces, linens, tapestries, and fabrics.

Laura has created some small format works integrated with antique found objects that really reach into the deep memories.

Laura Aldridge currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area creating and drinking in inspiration. She is local by way of Newport family.
