Tropical Rain in the Alvord Desert
Rhyolite is a mixture of minerals brought together in the heat of volcanic events. This Rhyolite raindrop varies in hue from pastel green-blue to eggplant with silicate windows. Found near the base of the Steens mountains, the colors mimic the sage scrub and the towering mountains in the desert. The lower stone is Thunder Egg tube agate with neutral tone concentric bulls-eye. This sweet cloudburst is set in Fine Silver with Fine Silver ball raindrops, Sterling Silver bail and clasp. SOLD
Crystals in the Bubble
These Druzy Quartz Crystals grew in an ancient bubble bath, a lava bubble bath at that. Swirls of eggplant, maroon, mauve and warm tones lap the blue-green, clear and white edges of the Agate and Quartz. This meeting of the Thunder Egg ‘yolk’ and the shell is called Rhyolite and I think its dynamite. A 4mm blue tinted Thunder Egg Agate and Fine Silver balls add more bubbles for a splash of fun. SOLD
Balanced Measures
Another in the Polyphonic body of work, this piece is based on asymmetry and the balance therein. A delicately lined triangular Thunder Egg Agate varies through the spectrum in subtle tints and tonalities. A dark blue Thunder Egg Agate represents the depth of the range, a blue marcasite and orange Plume Agate and a clear/white agate with black flecks represents the mid and high. SOLD
Blue-Gray Sway
Inspired by Polyphonic music, this piece ‘feels’ the co-mingling notes, tempos, and harmonizations. A dark blue Thunder Egg Agate with clear and light shades is set backless to admire the clarity of the gem. A mid-tone blue-gray Thunder Egg Agate balances a clear, tinted blue agate in this triad. Fine Silver and Sterling Silver bring this composition together. SOLD
Harmonic Crescendo
Imagine a convergence of high notes playing in the timing of their dispensation firmly grounded by rich bass. The Crimson Plume Agate with druzy quartz heart is that bass from whence the Pink and White Thunder Egg Agate/Common Opal stones project. Swinging Sterling bars hold Copper warmth like a whispered echo of the crescendo. SOLD
Polyphonic Striations
Jewelry often feels poetic, as a good haiku composition, and sometimes musical as well. This piece contains not only an allegory for the layers of the land and banks of the streams but the sounds of the earth in concert. A Pink Common Opal from a Thunder Egg from Central Oregon starts the measure off with a high note as Fine and Sterling pebbles mark off rhythm. A Deep wine colored Marcasite Plume Agate floats as the central key while a striated Red/Blue Thunder Egg adds a touch of base to the phrase. See More/Purchase
Plume Monolith
For a smaller, dainty stone, this gem has it all; dark Plumes at the bottom are contrasted by white plumes at the top with intervening clear to milky agate in the middle. It is set backless to let the light shine through or the color that you are wearing come through the stone. Set in Fine Silver and 23.5k Keum Boo Gold, this little charm has powerful style impact. SOLD
Pink Plume Mountain
Delicate hues of pinks, coral, honey, white, and clear undulate their way through this Pink Plume Agate complete with a Druzy Quartz window. Topped like a blush sun over a warm desert landscape, a Pink Thunder Egg Agate illuminates the scene. See More/Purchase
Illuminated Wave Theory
Plume Agates with a glowing sunny hue float on black patina amid the undulating Sterling Silver Wave. Did their energy start the wave or was it the warm, copper energy on the other side? Hammered Copper, Sterling, Fine Silver and Plume Agate bring you this act in the 'Big Play'. More/Purchase
Silver Mountains, Copper Stars
The starry night is lit by twin agates with both moss and thunder egg inclusions. Night is summoned by dark patina drawn on the copper sky with engraved stars shining through. Fine silver mountains in the foreground engraved then darkened with patina set the dreamy night-time scene. See More/Purchase
Of All The Stars in the Sky
There are a few special ones. These are treated in Keum Boo: 23.5k Gold on Fine Silver. They glow like radiant stars with glittering Fine Silver stars around them in the dark night sky. A patina on Copper creates that deep space while Sterling Silver wires hang this celestial scene from your ears. SOLD
Marcasite and Keum Boo
Sometimes what glitters is gold. Other times, it may be Marcasite. This interesting mineral grows in crystal like forms (like pyrite) and has found its way into the Agate in such small crystals that it looks like someone dropped glitter into the stone in the sunshine. It's only fitting to add 23.5k Gold to the piece taking the sparkle and contemporary style to the maximum. See More/Purchase
Stars in the Sunshine
This high dome Marcasite Plume Agate free form cabochon mimics the dome of the sky. A deep cloud of night-like Agate holds tiny marcasite metallic crystals that glimmer in the sun like stars. The night cloud is suspended in bright honey glow sunshine agate held with Fine Silver with a Sterling Silver band. See More/Purchase
Smokey Mountain Blues
This Striated Blue Thunder Egg Agate reflects the colors of the volcanic event that birthed them. Ashy greys and smokey blues are striped through the fortification layers of this 4mm Agate. An 18 gauge Sterling Silver band holds the Fine Silver setting to your finger. An open, Keum Boo capped band keeps this ring fitting whichever finger between 7 and 8 on either of your hands that you’d like to rock this story of volcanic events. See More/Purchase
Beach Break Ring
So often, the stones hold pictures or landscapes within their mineral structures. This one looked like a beach break to me with the golden sands being lapped by the sudsy white Agate. The dark shadows are actually Marcasite bands that have minute glittery metallic shine when viewed in the sun. Just like those glittery sands on the beach, this ring reminds me of standing at the lap of the surf. See More/Purchase
